In the mood for some Beignets, but you can’t swing the trip to New Orleans to Cafe du Monde in the French Quarter? Here’s the next best thing. These are from one of my favorites from Southern Living made with Pillsbury Buttermilk Biscuits. They are a real treat and super easy. Give yourself 10 minutes and you can be sipping your coffee, eating your beignets and feeling as if are in the center of it all in NOLA.

Banana-Berry Frozen Yogurt Bars
Are you looking for a summer treat and a way to get the family involved in the kitchen? I found it or I should say Christy found it, made it, and brought it to school to see what we thought and I loved this recipe. So here they are for you to try with the kids. They will love them! The recipe is right off the box of Nabisco Honey Grahams. It’s a healthy substitute for ice cream sandwiches since they are made with yogurt and fresh fruit. I used tart raspberries and bananas which really needed a sprinkle of sugar or a dab of honey to add some sweetness. Just to give you a heads up here, the end product is not going to be a nice creamy texture. It’s fruit and yogurt mixed by hand so it will be a little icy. Be sure to let them thaw a good 5 minutes before serving. Very refreshing!

Crunchy Chewy Granola
I hate it when I find just the right shade of lipstick and you are standing at the cosmetic counter glaring at the salesperson as they say to you with a smile “Sorry, but the color has been discontinued.” What? Tell me you are kidding? It has been brought to my attention many times that I should buy two of everything that I love. You know that special t-shirt, sweater, jeans, and the list goes on. So you know where this is going. I am a granola girl. I love it with cold skim milk in the morning, for a snack, or dinner. More than once or twice I have fallen for a certain brand and out of no where production of this wonderful product stops. No one calls me. No one asked my opinion. It just stops appearing on the shelf. It’s sad. Now I’m doing what I should have done a long time ago and I am making my granola. Well, really it’s not mine but thanks to Katie Workman I can have my favorite granola anytime I want it. So can you and you will love it!
Mixed up Popcorn
The name says “mixed up” popcorn, but I really think that it is “kicked up” popcorn. This is good stuff. Just for your information this stuff is very addictive. I don’t really care for caramel popcorn, but this is more on the side of popcorn and other stuff covered in pralines. I first had this several years ago when I last went on a real vacation. You know the kind where you stay for a week or more and read several books while sitting in a chair with the beach breeze gently blowing your hair. The kind of time that you never want to end. You have no trouble sleeping. Work is someone else’s problem. The only decision that you have to make is what are you’re having for dinner. I need that right now. Anyway, Anna made this Mixed Up Popcorn for our vacation and it was a fight for the last bite. It is that good!
